Commercial Logistics & Material Handling

Vanguard Ag Systems coordinates factory-direct freight logistics for commercial, institutional, and enterprise-grade Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) facilities nationwide. Because our equipment systems are highly specialized and industrial in scale, all shipments are managed via select Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) carriers or dedicated flatbed transit.

1. Delivery & Receiving Requirements

  • Commercial Dock Access: Standard delivery rates assume the receiving facility is equipped with a commercial-height loading dock or a private forklift capable of offloading heavy palletized crates.
  • Liftgate Services: If your facility lacks a loading dock or forklift, you must request and coordinate liftgate delivery services with your procurement manager prior to dispatch.
  • Site Accessibility: Delivery sites must be safely accessible by standard 53-foot semi-trucks. Delays or redeliveries due to site restriction will result in carrier storage and re-consignment fees billed directly to the consignee.

2. Freight Inspection & Damage Protocol

All shipments are fully insured during transit. However, liability transfers to the consignee upon signature of the Bill of Lading (BOL). You must strictly follow our inspection protocol:

  • Visual Inspection: Thoroughly inspect the exterior packaging, shrink wrap, and palletizing before signing.
  • Note Damages Immediately: If any damage, shifting, or tearing is visible, write "DAMAGED" along with a detailed description on the driver's BOL before signing.
  • Document: Take high-resolution photographs of the unopened pallet or crate from multiple angles.
  • Report: Report any transit issues to Vanguard Ag Systems support within 24 hours of delivery to initiate the immediate dispatch of replacement components.

3. Flatbed & Specialized Rigging

For oversized equipment, customized climate systems, or multi-tier rolling bench arrays, flatbed transit and coordinated rigging may be required. In these instances, our logistics desk will work directly with your on-site facility manager to schedule precise, time-sensitive drop windows to align with your crane or installation crews.
